Dr Lina Pacca
MBBS (WA)
Dr Lina Pacca
Dr Lina Pacca is the daughter of Italian migrants to Perth.
Lina graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1982 and initially worked at Royal Perth Hospital as an intern and a resident and then did a couple of years in the anaesthetic training program. Over those years, she worked at Hollywood Hospital, Shenton Park Hospital, Kalgoorlie Regional Hospital and Kind Edward Hospital.
Following a break from the training program there was a bit of travel with some locum positions – notably Esperance, Tennant Creek and Thursday Island- Seeing some of Australia!
A year spent working in the Intensive Care Unit of the Mount Hospital looking after coronary artery bypass patients followed. A position at Leeming Medical Centre came up as one of the Doctors was going on maternity leave; this was for a couple of months- but stretched from 1988 to 1993.. General Practice is was from then on!
Lina started at Queens Road Surgery in 1993 when she and her then associate Dr Janet Campbell moved from Leeming to Mt Pleasant and found an old house on the corner of Queens Road and Reynolds Road. Initially they contemplated renovating the building but took the plunge to demolish and start over. There have been a few ‘tweaks’ over the years – adding a consulting room, waiting room and staff room after some years. Gradually the surgery has grown from two doctors and one nurse, practice manager and one receptionist to the busy practice it is today.
Lina is experienced in all areas of general practice with special interests in: women’s health, skin checks, aged care and preventative medicine.
Lina is also able to perform Implanon insertion & removal, Mirena removal, iron infusions and skin excisions.
When not at work in the practice serial hobbies occupy a lot of Lina’s time. As most know, gardening is a passion and most recently orchids have taken a central role in the garden but that does not stop the general love of plants and pottering about in her garden. Crafting hobbies have been many and varied, currently crocheting and tinkering with jewellery making.
